Visa types, applicant scope

Class C: International train attendants, international aircraft crew members, crew members and their accompanying family members of international navigation vessels, and car drivers engaged in international road transportation who perform crew, aviation, and shipping tasks。
Class D: Individuals seeking permanent residency in China。
Class F: Personnel engaged in exchanges, visits, inspections, and other activities in China。
Class G: Transit personnel through China。
Class J1: Foreign resident journalists of Chinese news organizations who have resided in China for more than 180 days。
Class J2: Foreign journalists who travel to China for short-term (not exceeding 180 days) interviews and reporting。
Class L: Tourists traveling to China。
Class M: Personnel engaged in commercial trade activities in China。
Class Q1: Family members of Chinese citizens (spouses, parents, children, children's spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren and parents of their spouses) who apply for residence in China due to family reunion, and family members of foreigners with permanent residence qualifications in China (spouses, parents, children, children's spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren and parents of their spouses), as well as those who apply for residence in China due to foster care and other reasons。
Class Q2: Relatives of Chinese citizens residing in China and relatives of foreigners with permanent residence status in China who visit their relatives for a short period (no more than 180 days) in China。
Class R: China needs high-level foreign talents and urgently needs scarce specialized talents。
Class S1: Spouses, parents, children under 18 years of age, parents of spouses of foreigners who have stayed in China for work, study and other reasons, and those who need to stay in China for other private affairs, who have been visiting their relatives for a long time (more than 180 days) in China。
Class S2: Family members (spouses, parents, children, children's spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, maternal grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren and spouse's parents) of foreigners who stay in China for work, study and other reasons to visit their relatives for a short period (no more than 180 days) in China, as well as those who need to stay in China for other personal matters。
Class X1: Individuals who have been studying in China for a long period of time (exceeding 180 days)。
Class X2: Individuals studying in China for a short period of time (not exceeding 180 days)。
Class Z: Personnel working within China。

When applying for a visa, you need to prepare the following materials:

1、 Basic application materials

(1) Passport: Original passport with a validity period of more than 6 months, blank visa page, and 1 copy of passport photo information page.

(2) Visa application form and photo: 1 copy of the “People's Republic of China Visa Application Form” and 1 recent, frontal, color (light background), passport photo pasted on the application form.

(3) Legal stay or residence certificate (applicable to visa applicants who are not in their country of nationality): If you are not applying for a visa in your country of nationality, you need to provide valid proof of legal stay, residence, work, or study in your country, or the original and photocopy of a valid visa.

(4) Original Chinese passport or original Chinese visa (applicable to those who previously held Chinese nationality but later acquired foreign nationality): If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you must provide the original Chinese passport and a copy of the passport photo information page; If you have previously obtained a Chinese visa and applied for a visa with a newly issued foreign passport, you must provide the original foreign passport photo information page and a copy of the Chinese visa you have previously obtained (if the name recorded on the new passport does not match the original passport, you must also provide relevant official proof of name change).

2、 Other supporting application materials

C-visa
A guarantee letter issued by a foreign transportation company or an invitation letter issued by a relevant unit within China.

D-visa
The original and photocopy of the Confirmation Form of Foreigner's Permanent Residence Status issued by the Ministry of Public Security of China.
Please note that:
After entering China, the holder must apply for a residence permit from the exit and entry management agency of the public security organ of the local people's government at or above the county level where they intend to reside within 30 days.

F-visa
Invitation letter issued by relevant units or individuals within China. The invitation letter must include the following content:
(1) Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, etc;
(2) Invited person's visit information: reasons for coming to China, arrival and departure dates, visit location, relationship with the inviting unit or person, source of expenses, etc;
(3) Inviting unit or inviter information: name of inviting unit or inviter, contact phone number, address, unit seal, signature of legal representative or inviter, etc.

G-visa
A connecting flight (car, boat) ticket with a confirmed date and seat to the destination country or region.

J1-visa
The visa notification letter issued by the Information Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the official letter issued by the media where the journalist works.
The applicant should first contact the press office of the Chinese embassy or consulate to complete the relevant procedures.
Please note that:

J2-visa

Travel materials such as round-trip airfare and hotel bookings, or invitation letters issued by domestic units or individuals in China. The invitation letter must include the following content:
(1) Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, etc;
(2) Invited person's itinerary information: arrival and departure dates, tourist destinations, etc;
(3) Inviting unit or inviter information: name of inviting unit or inviter, contact phone number, address, unit seal, signature of legal representative or inviter, etc.

M-visa
Invitation letters such as business activity documents and trade fair invitations issued by domestic trade partners in China. The invitation letter must include the following content:
1. Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, etc;
2. Information on the invitee's visit: reasons for coming to China, arrival and departure dates, visit location, relationship with the inviting unit or person, source of expenses, etc;
3. Information of inviting unit or inviter: name of inviting unit or inviter, contact phone number, address, unit seal, signature of legal representative or inviter, etc.

R-visa
Meet the introduction conditions and requirements for foreign high-level talents and urgently needed specialized talents determined by the relevant competent departments of the Chinese government, and submit corresponding proof materials in accordance with regulations.

G-visa
A connecting flight (car, boat) ticket with a confirmed date and seat to the destination country or region.

X2-visa
The original and photocopy of the admission notice issued by the recruiting unit within China.

(1) Invitation letters can be faxed, photocopied, or printed, but consular officials may require applicants to provide the original invitation letter.
(2) When necessary, consular officers may request the applicant to provide other supporting documents or supplementary materials, or request the applicant to undergo an interview based on the situation.
(3) Consular officers decide whether to issue visas, the validity period, duration of stay, and number of entries based on the specific circumstances of the applicant.
